You’re in a bind. You have friends or family members coming into town to visit during the long holiday weekend. You’d like to pick them up at the airport but you’re stuck at work. It’s always hectic before an extra long break.
Or, you simply don’t have the vacation time to take an extra day off.
The idea of putting them on public transportation is scary. Asking them to take a cab is likewise iffy and expensive.
This type of problem can be solved through a personal assistant or a concierge service. Send someone to meet your visitors at the airport. Then the PA will escort or chauffeur them safely to your home.
Don’t want them sitting around bored? Let the PA bring your guests to a local restaurant or even act as a tour guide to an area attraction. Such a service is sure to impress your friends and family. They’ll have a good time, and you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

Many people love the shared experience of discussing an interesting book. Good friends are often made in the congenial settings of book clubs.
But lively and strong book clubs are rare. They take a lot of work to organize and maintain. Without a dedicated center person or persons, book clubs tend to wither away.
Here are some ideas on how to use a personal assistant’s services to build a healthy and stable book club.
- Ask him or her to prepare the snacks and drinks.
- Let the PA research and create the discussion questions.
- Put your PA in charge of securing and distributing the next selection.

Laundry is a cyclical task. It seems like an easy thing to do, but then why is it always such a chore? Before I had my in-unit washer and dryer, I used to dread lugging all that weight to the laundry room or laundry mat.
Even with the washer and dryer right in my living space, it’s a huge waiting game. I have to interrupt whatever I’m doing to transfer the load from machine to machine and to put away the ones that are done.
Something that seems so simple ends up being a huge time drain.
Luckily, laundry is one of the most efficient ways to use a personal assistant. Since there is all that wait time, the assistant should be given other tasks to do in between loads. Whether it is other cleaning needs orĀ getting your bills paid, you are getting multiple things done during the same time period.
This makes the time cost effective and doubly productive. As a bonus, a trusted personal assistant can have all this done in your absence. Imagine the joy of coming home to a closet full of clean clothes.
