Yes, this blog has sat untended for quite a long time now. I’ve been quite lucky to be so busy this year, but all that work does make it harder to be diligent to this medium.
To remedy that, I’m changing the focus of this blog site. You’re going to see a lot more news about what I’m doing and what my clients are doing. Along the way, I hope to continue adding tips about organization, business administration, and entrepreneurship.
I think this shift is going to work so much better for everyone. If you’re seeing this, thanks for coming back!

I love calendars and planners in January. There are so many empty days and plenty of space in which to plan and dream.
The news keeps screaming that 2010 is the year of growth and recovery. Regardless of whether this is truth or fiction, opportunities are always out there.
If you find yourself stuck at any time this year, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. When your A to B needs a little help, Detour Services will be ready.

It’s been an unbelievable first year for my little company. I’m so glad that the need I saw out there has turned into a sustainable and growing business.
Thank you to the clients and helpers who made this first anniversary possible. I look forward to continuing and building our relationships over the next year.
To all our successes!

These days, every business, large and small, needs at least one web page. There are far too many consumers who turn to the internet for everything—directions, phone numbers, price comparisons, etc.
There appears to be a growing distrust, merited or not, of places without websites. It is as if they are not even a real entity.
At the very least, potential customers like to have some kind of contact information available so they can reach you. That’s why I say that everyone needs at least one web page.
- company name
- address
- phone number
- email address
Perhaps, even a map and a nice photo.
Domains and web hosting prices are really affordable, and accounts are easy to set up. More and more people are adapting blogs to let the easier interface and preprogrammed operations become the shortcuts needed for self-maintaining websites.
How is your web presence doing? Do you need something simple and informative set up? Detour Services might just be the resource you need.

Detour Services doesn’t just handle assignments only within a client’s business. Earlier this year, I received a pretty large project involving a parent’s WWII photographs.
This collection consisted of hundreds of photos, and my client wanted to get them organized, researched, and eventually donated to a place where they would be used and appreciated.
Luckily, there was writing on the backs of a fair number of the photos. As for the rest, I researched the patches and insignia on the sleeves of the pictured soldiers to get an idea of the timelines and locations.
After some pretty intensive effort from all parties, the collection is now ordered and in an album. A donation point has been identified with everything ready to go.
Do you have what seems like an overwhelming task sitting in a box somewhere? Why not give me a call and get that weight off of your mind?
